YOU AND YOUR CHILD AREN’T ALONE
Peanut Allergy Affects Millions of Children
Peanut allergy is the most common food allergy in children in the US, and, in fact, nearly 1.5 million are living with it today. While it may feel isolating at times, it’s important to know that you and your family are not alone.
For most children, peanut allergy is a lifelong struggle, and about 80% of children never outgrow their allergy.
Peanuts are the #1 known cause of food-related allergic reactions in children in the US.
IS PEANUT ALLERGY?
Signs and Symptoms of a Peanut Allergy Reaction

Signs and Symptoms:
*Please note these symptoms do not represent all of the possible reactions. Consult your allergist if you have any questions and have a treatment plan for when you suspect an allergic reaction is happening.
WHAT IS ANAPHYLAXIS?
Sometimes the body can experience a very severe, potentially life-threatening reaction. This type of reaction is called anaphylaxis. It can be marked by multiple allergic symptoms, regardless of severity, from at least 2 target organs. Since a reaction can happen within seconds or minutes of exposure, it's critical to know what signs and symptoms to look out for—and have an epinephrine auto-injector handy, at all times. Ask your allergist for a complete list of signs and symptoms and be sure to partner with them to create an anaphylaxis action plan.
If you suspect your child may be experiencing anaphylaxis, use your epinephrine device immediately and call 911.
